Happy Vegan Baker started in September of 2007.
Working as a pastry chef at one of Austin's top restaurants made me think that I should be able to replicate all the wonderful desserts without the butter, eggs and cream.
The idea took hold that fellow vegans should still be able to enjoy the bliss of sinking their teeth into something sweet and decadent without worrying about the cruelty that the animal where the product came from might have suffered.
And that said dessert should not taste like cardboard.
I have extensively researched and tested these recipes, and I am currently still experimenting with new and fabulous ideas (to the delight of all my friends, that happily assigned themselves the task of Tasters)
When I'm not baking, I love spending time with my four cats Garlic,
Cinnamon, Ginger and Chilli.
A walk around Town Lake, with lunch at either Mother's Cafe, Casa de Luz or Mr. Natural completes a great day in wonderful Austin!!
